Both 401(k)s and Traditional IRAs are tax-deferred retirement accounts, meaning you can invest tax-free and you pay taxes only when you take it out after age 59 1/2. Alternatively, with a Finhabits Roth IRA you contribute with after-tax money and then you invest tax-free and don't pay taxes on any investment gains when you take it out after age 59 1/2.
